What is your ideal floor cover?
A floor cover should be able to protect your hardwood floor from scuffs, spills, burns and dirt. It should also be easy to deploy and remove. You would also expect it be heavy duty enough to handle heavy foot traffic, with the ability to stand up to being reused over a period of time.

Always be aware of the product you are being quoted on!. There are a few companies whom are masquerading a common wood tarp as a gym floor cover. Be sure to protect yourself from buying an inferior product by asking for a sample.
|
What to expect from a requested sample:
A 3-ply coated material
Coated material is superior to vinyl laminates
Vinyl laminates will delaminate under extreme usage
Have a polyester base cloth that represents a reasonable proportion of overall fabric weight
A heavy fabric is only as good as it's components
All PVC with no base core will have weak tear strength
All core with no vinyl will offer little protection
Be available in a roll
A floor covering on a roller can cover the entire floor or smaller sections quickly and easily
A folding tarp is cumbersome to handle and store
Folding will cause crease or tear which could become a potential hazard
Slip resistant
Materials which are embossed have a nice gloss-like appearance but are not safe to walk on
Realistic warranty
If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is
